OCCULTUS by Senator WINES

Occultus is made from a blend of four grape varieties: 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Fetească Neagră and 15% Băbească Neagră. Local and international grapes join together in perfect harmony to create this fine wine. The wines were aged in 100% new Romanian oak barrels for 24 months.The blending was done before bottling and the wine was aged for 30 months in bottle and released in November 2013, when it began showing its true potential. The name of the wine, Occultus, was chosen because it comes from the Latin occult which means “hidden” or “secret”, waiting to be revealed.  Occultus is for people who have the wisdom to discover its secrets patiently, to let themselves be inspired by the complexity of flavours. We wanted to offer the best wine from Husi, a region that keeps a secret from most of the world, with only a few ‘in the know’ about its superb quality. The label was designed to associate the best of Romanian decorative traditions with the best in Romanian wine making. The image was chosen from a tracian beaker which was used to serve wine.
